Bend Fall Festival, 10/3/9

Date: October 4, 2009 9:50 AM
Topic: Bend Fall Festival, 10/3/9

The Bend Fall Festival this year should have been called the Bend
Winter Festival Held in the Fall. The temperature hovered around 40º
with a strong wind. And there were snowflakes from time to time.
It's so hard to play when you can't feel your fingers! But the
audience was supportive and danced. Believe me, when the last song
was played, everyone dispersed!

Today we're off to Seattle, about a 6 hour drive. It's snowing
throughout central Oregon, and hopefully the passes will be open.
Tonight: Tractor Tavern.

Carpenter Center, Long Beach, CA, 9/26/9

Though it was a long day of travel, we had a good show at the Carpenter Center. Iris Dement opened the show and was well received. She played about 45 minutes and we played for about 75. Lots of fans were lined up afterwards for CD signings, and when it was all over and done with, we were just plain exhausted. Next up: Askenaz in Betkeley. [Posted with iBlogger from my iPhone]

The Kate, Old Saybrook, CT, 2/11/18

We played the Kate on a very wet Sunday night. It was our third appearance there and as always, the audience was great and so were the staff.   We played a fairly well-rounded set list, mainly to listeners, as there isn’t much room at the Kate to dance.  It was a good show, and afterwards we sold and signed CDs.  It’s always great to see our fans. I hope it’s not 4 more years until we play there again!

Rhodes on the Pawtuxet Mardi Gras show, Cranston, RI, 2/10/18

We’ve played the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet Mardi Gras show many times. It’s put on by Church Wentworth, who also produces the Ninigret Park Labor Day Festival. It was the 26th year of the Mardi Gras show, and the place was rocking! We played a rousing dance set, and we were followed by Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas, old friends and great musicians.
