5/22, Amber Hills Winery, Hampshire, TN

This was our 2nd year at the Amber Hills Winery Cajunfest, and it was a really nice day for a festival. The temps were in the 70s and the sky was clear blue.  The music line up for the day was the Jambalaya Cajun Band and BeauSoleil.   The winery is owned by the Zaunbrechers of Lafayette, so there was ample cajun food directly from Louisiana for sale plus of course Amber Hills wines. We hope to be invited back next year!

5/22/15 Red Clay Foundry Theatre, Duluth, GA

We played at the Red Clay Foundry Theatre in Duluth, GA last night.   It was our first appearance there and we hope to return soon.  It's a very nice venue, and we were treated quite well by the staff.  Several in the audience had never heard us before, and I think we made some new fans!  There were also fans we hadn't seen in years, so it was a good night.

5/21/2015, The Foundry, Athens, GA

We played our 'yearly Memorial Weekend' appearance at the Foundry last night.  Actually, we usually do the show on the Friday rather than the Thursday, but that's how shows go.  The venue and hotel have been recently purchased by a new owner, and though the music venue is basically the same, the dining menu has changed a lot, I think, for the better.  BBQ is the main event on the menu, and it is good. We look forward to performing again at the Foundry soon, probably next Memorial Day!

5/20/2015 Work/Play Theatre, Birmingham, AL

It was the band's first time at Work/Play Theatre in Birmingham last night. It's a very nice space in the downtown area of Birmingham, not far from one of our favorite restaurants, the Fish Market. There were few in attendance, but those who were there danced the night away. We did get to visit with old friends and also made new ones, too.   We look forward to performing there again sometime soon.

Tips on how to know if we are coming to your town

We are in the process of updating our website, www.beausoleilmusic.com, and our events page, http://artistdata.sonicbids.com/beausoleil-avec-michael-doucet/shows/.  Our Facebook page is also very helpful.  Look for Beausoleil avec Michael Doucet.  Please subscribe so you'll know where in the world we are.   Our new agency is Dynamic Artists Management: http://dynamicartists.com/artists/beausoleil

Long drive to Birmingham

We drove from Louisiana to Birmingham, Alabama yesterday, officially known as a Travel Day.  The drive wasn't too hard, about 7 hours from Baton Rouge.  We stopped in Tuscaloosa, AL for - you guessed - BBQ.  We tried out Archibald and Woodrow's BBQ.  It was very good!   We are looking forward to performing at the Work/Play Theatre tonight.

McCabe's with Richard Thompson and the Musical Instrument Museum

After Gator by the Bay, we played at McCabe's in Santa Monica.   The show was a lot of fun, as usual.   Richard Thompson was in the crowd and played a couple tunes with us, Conga and Bamiko.   It's always a pleasure to play music with Richard! We flew to Phoenix on Saturday and played Sunday at the Musical Instrument Museum on Mother's Day. This is an amazing place: instruments from around the world all in one place.   The first time we played here we toured the museum.   After an hour and a half, we had to leave for the hotel but didn't make the complete tour of the instruments.   The show was sold out, and we were treated very well by the staff and the patrons.   We also played a song, Je veux marier, acoustically, which the audience really liked. Now we're heading home.   Our next performance will be next Wednesday in Birmingham at the Work/Play Theatre.
